With the breeding season over, and the show season a month away, I have started training the young birds to the show cages. It merely involves fixing a show cage to the outside of a large flight cage (like building them a conservatory) and they hop in and out of the show cage. It just gets them used to the show cages so they are comfortable in the smaller cage and don't panic and fly around and injure themselves.

Some new pictures.

I reckon that out of 20 bred, I have six who can be my show team. Looking forward to the coming months.

  1. Hi, I breed scotch fancy x scotch fancy, but the juvenile doesn't look like their parent.
When the youngster will start forming posture?

    Regards.
