Some new photos

The nest of four green babies whose parents are the pair whose baby flew away from my shed at 3 weeks never to be seen again.

This is the seven chicks who have been weaned - I have them in a run of five flights cages interlinked.

And these are my new recruits to the show cage training cage. I have high hopes of one, perhaps two, of them.

I think that these chicks, three weeks old and the product of the cock bird from Aberdeen and the white hen, are probably the best birds I have so far bred.

The little green hen has four chicks. I am delighted as their father is an excellent bird and i am impatient to see what the chicks turn out like.

The white hen's second brood are now being weaned.

And most excitingly, two chicks hatched under my green hen - you will remember that her first chick escaped and has been lost. She still has two eggs to hatch. Great news for me.

Loanhead CBS Young Bird show

Great show at Loanhead today for young birds. Mine acquitted themselves well.

New birds off to first show

First baby out of the nest. Three whites and one yellow in this nest.

It is the first nest feather show - young birds only - tomorrow and we have some nice birds to take along to Loanhead.

We have moved house and hence I have not had time or broadband to post.

One hen was sitting on 5 eggs, 4 of which have hatched - three whites and a yellow - and another on 4 eggs - 3 of which have hatched.

I had one disaster. The little singleton green chick escaped its weaning cage and is lost outdoors. His parents are however, now sitting on three eggs so I may get a second chance with this pair.

Photos are my new bird room - outdoors at last and the white hen's babies.

The rate of growth of baby canaries never fails to amaze me.
